Ravioli di mare - ravioli of seafood

Ravioli di Mare, shown above as a representative sample from Genoa, can be many things. The direct translation is Ravioli of the sea, so the stuffing could be pesce, fish, or even “frutti di mare”, what we call seafood or shellfish. The version in Genoa was heavy on the garlic, which was surprising because Italians seldom use the quantity of garlic most Americans think they use. You’ll find many ravioli stuffed with bronzino, as was the case here.
